Church of S. Antonio da Padova

Church of S. Antonio da Padova Church of S. Antonio da Padova
The church of S. Antonio da Padova is located in the heart of the historic center of Castellammare, along Corso Garibaldi. Although originally outside the walls, its grandeur and centrality suggest the importance it gained over time.

The church, already erected in 1647, was modified in 1864, 1902, and 1956. The church features a facade in the typical Sicilian baroque style, equipped with two bell towers on the sides and columns with Corinthian capitals.

It is divided into three naves and has eight altars; of these, three altars date back to the seventeenth century: the main altar dedicated to Maria SS. Immacolata, one dedicated to S. Antonio da Padova, and the third to S. Francesco d’Assisi, characterized by a painting depicting S. Francesco d’Assisi, by G. Tresca. The church houses two wooden statues dating back to the early 1900s.
