Inclusive beaches
Western Sicily is full of wonderful beaches, many of them easily accessible for everyone. In the name of sincerest welcome, inclusive beaches with disabled access are now widespread throughout the coast.
More and more coastlines have chosen to provide useful services for people with disabilities. And the province of Trapani knows this well, having facilitated access to its beaches with the “Sea without Barriers” initiative.
One example is the Monnalisa Beach lido in Campobello di Mazara and the free beach in San Vito lo Capo, both of which are provided with equipment to facilitate the accesso into the water and volunteers to assist swimmers with mobility problems.
Also appearing to join the project are Trapani’s “Zero Barriers” beach and Erice Smile Beach. The list continues with Mazara del Vallo’s Tonnarella, Marsala’s Marakaibo beach, the shores of Castellammare del Golfo and Macari‘s wonderful waterfront.
Between “Job” chairs, umbrellas with equipped tables, electric wheelchairs and life jackets, the beaches of Western Sicily have everything you need to spend a day at the beach without barriers by bathing in total safety and autonomy. Diving into the water and swimming in freedom here is an accessible experience for everyone.
