This place has a double history: noble and religious. Originally, in fact, the building was the palace of Count Chiaramonte, who gave it in 1290 to the Benedictine nuns to make it a monastery.
Small and amazing oratory founded for the conduct of spiritual exercises and where they were hosted by famous people during their stays in Erice.
This church is characterized by a marked monumentality, with its large dome that dominates all the other buildings constituting a topographical point of reference in the monumental landscape of the historic centre of Trapani.
Today the church, in addition to its architectural value, displays precious works of art.
With its suggestive position, the Mother Church is a fascinating palimpsest of ages, enriched by the presence of architectural elements of great value.
Founded according to tradition by Count Roger Norman (twelfth century)
A church to discover in its many details, with its front garden surrounded by a wall that amplifies the charm. Dedicated to St. Ursula, the church has very ancient origins, but was enlarged in 1450 with the addition of a second nave, dedicated to St. Mary of Jesus.
